Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte

Architect, gallerist and art fair director

Born in Montreal and now co-founder of Carwan Gallery, Oeuffice, A-trio and Nomad Monaco, this year, Nicolas was selected as a member of the jury of the design parade villa Noailles in France. He’s called Milan home since 2006.

Nicolas's Top Tips:

  1. Milan is a city on a human scale, so you don’t feel trapped in a neverending urban context – in just a few hours, you can quickly reach airports, drive to the lakes, the Alps or the Riviera for a dip. Make the most of it!
  2. Cimitero Monumentale is one of the nicest escapes in the city: get lost there on a Sunday and discover the amazing architecture in the garden.
  3. Have breakfast at Pasticceria Cucchi, one of the oldest cafes in the neighbourhood and teeming with Milanese history. But remember: only order a cappuccino if it’s before 11am if you don’t want your waiter to laugh at you.
