Andrew Armstrong

Producer/DJ, half of Monarchy and creative director of Seven Rays

Having cut his teeth DJing at underground events, Andrew hit the world circuit via DJ duo Monarchy, which saw him perform at Coachella, remixing Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue, and onto headlining festivals in Europe. This year will be no different, so keep an eye out for Monarchy on global festival line-ups. He is also the creative director of a menswear label, Seven Rays, which is available at Candy/Fake Store in Tokyo.

Andrew's Top Tips:

  1. Satan’s Whiskers is a fantastic cocktail bar just by my flat in Bethnal Green. It’s filled with taxidermy and the soundtrack is permanently 90s hip-hop. The negroni is brilliant and so too are their wines by the glass.
  2. The Queen Adelaide. The gay East London institution The George and Dragon pub closed up shop, and opened in this new location at the other end of Hackney Road. Quite divey, fun and open late on weekends. We (Monarchy) have launched our own night there on Sundays. Come and party.
  3. Paradise Garage is an amazing restaurant in an arch in Bethnal Green, opened by one of Nuno Mendez’s protégés. The food is incredible, so make the most of it and go for the tasting menu. The ale ice cream shouldn’t be missed.
