Unbeatable restaurants, cafés and bars in the heart of London

London’s West End, from Piccadilly Circus to Covent Garden, has undergone a transformation in recent years. No longer just souvenir shops, sports bars and giant screens, it’s home to an array of fabulous restaurants, cafés and bars. Don’t miss the bustle of Chinatown, a great option for snacks and late-night feasts (#UJloves Leong’s Legend and their soupy Taiwanese dumplings). Late-late night cocktails should be had in the hidden Experimental Cocktail Club or Opium (behind the jade door on Gerrard Street).

Top tip:

During weekdays, stop by Soho’s Berwick Street – a regular UJ haunt – for a plethora of street food vendors hawking global cuisine. Music fans should note that Soho is also considered the ‘golden mile of vinyl’ – so bop between Sister Ray, Reckless Records, Sounds of the Universe, Phonica and If Music.
