Viridiana

Sumptuous rustic cuisine

Don’t be fooled by the non-descript rustic décor – Viridiana is one of the best culinary experiences in the capital (and perfectly located between the Museo del Prado and Buen Retiro Park). Classic and traditional, chef and owner Abraham García doesn’t follow trends – and never has since opening over three decades ago – but that’s part of its charm. Savour the hearty French/Spanish menu, which perfectly toes the line between rustic and haute.

Top tip:

For the full experience, order the menú degustación and surrender to plates such as raspberry gazpacho, farmyard eggs with fungus mousse, and red tuna cheeks.
