Take shelter from the sun in these winding streets
The winding, narrow streets of Sitges’ Old Town are full of modernist buildings recalling its artistic history – and they’re a great place to cool off from the Mediterranean sun. Start at its epicentre, the Plaça Cap de la Vila, and then make time for a wander down the pretty streets leading off the Calle Mayor up until Plaça de la Ajuntament.
Top tip: Stroll down Carrer d’en Tacó and Carrer de la Carreta – all whitewashed stone and hanging baskets of red carnations. You’ll get a sense of what Sitges was like in the
1960s for visitors such as Salvador Dali. Stop off afterwards at Izarra for a refreshment of Basque-style tapas.
