Medea

Mysterious menus from Luis Angel Perez

Named after the Lars Von Trier film of the same name, this tiny restaurant is situated in the heart of the up-and-coming Chamberí neighbourhood. The decor is austere and modest, putting the focus on chef Luis Angel Perez’s surprising and playful menu. Like DiverXO or Nakeima, Medea is all about playing with your palate, offering something equally confusing and exciting. With only 16 dishes on the menu, it’s not hard to choose what to have – just pick the short menu (five dishes) or the long (eight dishes with two desserts).

Top tip:

The plates here are small and light so we recommend the long menu. Plus, you can’t argue with two desserts. Go early if you don’t want to wait for a table.
