No-frills, no-menu fisherman's shack

The story goes that King Juan Carlos was refused a table here because he hadn't booked in advance. Hype or not, it goes without saying that you must make a reservation in person prior to arriving at this slightly scruffy-looking quayside classic. Lunch is served from 12-2 and there's no choice – bullit de peix con arroz a banda is Ibiza's speciality, and the saffrony fish stew was cooked over open coals by founder Juan Ferrer for 40 years. His son carries on the tradition.

Bring swimming things and scramble over the rocks to pretty Cala Mastella for a post-lunch dip.
