Cala Conta

Pristine sandbanks with dreamy sunsets

This Instagram-ready slip of powdery white beach undulates below pale cliffs and is licked by shallow, limpid waters. There are a few loungers and parasols to rent, but mostly it's a bring-your-own affair and gets packed by lunchtime. On the rocks above is Sunset Ashram, a popular hippy-ish beach bar with delicious healthy food, juices and, of course, spectacular sunsets.

Top tip:

If you're feeling energetic, an hour-long walk takes you via dizzying cliff tops to a pirate tower near Cala Bassa, with plenty of secluded swimming stops in between. Join the path behind Restaurante Ses Roques.
