Guy Hensley is Senior Vice President of ME by Meliá, a new brand of experienced-based "personality" hotels launched by Sol Meliá in October 2006. Responsible for developing and defining ME by Meliá as a modern interpretation of the Sol Meliá experience, Guy oversees all aspects of the brand's evolution and interpretation across all ME properties.

Prior to joining Sol Meliá, Guy served as a Senior Vice President of Operations for W Hotels, where he helped to create and launch the W Hotel brand. In his five years as Senior Vice President of Operations, Guy was responsible for opening all of the first 18 W Hotels around the world. He also oversaw key aspects of the hotel chain's success, including Operations, Sales & Marketing, and Public Relations, in addition to establishing all brand standards and hiring all executive managers.

Guy cut his teeth in the hotel industry during college stints at the Doubletree Hotel in Houston, training at the Front desk, and working several positions including, Banquet waiter, Night Auditor, and Restaurant Manager. After graduation from University of Houston, he completed Doubletree Hotel's Manager in Training Program.

Guy then rose through the ranks at various Doubletree Hotels as Director of the Front Office, Rooms Division Manager, and finally General Manager. During this time, he was also selected for the brands Opening Taskforce and went on to launch 7 hotels for them. He was named "1989 GM of the year" in San Francisco.

After nearly 10 years with Doubletree Hotels, Guy joined Wyndham Hotel and Resorts International. During his 9 years there he held the position of General Manager at several Wyndham Hotels around the country. In 1996, he was promoted to Regional Vice President of Operations and was responsible for all Wyndham Hotels in the western United States. In 1998 Guy left Wyndham to join Starwood where he was charged with the launching of W Hotels.
